Paul’s version of Hotpot. Lamb, carrot and onion, topped with potato slices and baked. I cant tell you all the ingredients as Paul is keeping some secrets, but let me tell you, it was de—-lish!!
Of course, what did I want to accompany this with? Of course, its MUSHY PEAS!!
This is also a practice post for a NaBloPoMo thing, have you heard of it before? This is what Jo over at Chez le laquet had to say,
So I’m going for a NaBloPoMo this coming month. A photo NaBloPoMo. A photo-post a day through the month of July to try and hold off the decline for a little while. Will I manage it?? I seriously doubt it to be honest. **stalks off to look inspiration** Oooh and the NaBloPoMo theme is food – that bit I can do, honest!!
I thought I could give this a go too, so throughout July expect a picture post a day with a foodie theme, think I can keep it up?

It’s been, by my reckoning, 4 months since I bought any new trainers. Hurrah for the Internet, these lovely items were delivered yesterday!
The best shoe I’ve seen in ages and I fell in love with them on first sight, imagine how much I love Paul, then times it by 14 when you discover that I put my own wishes aside and ordered these in Pauls size!
Same shoe different colour.
In a major departure from my beloved Adidas, I ordered these Puma shoes and I really like them, very simple, very retro, I love the see-through bumper strip. I’m not always happy in a shoe with a flat sole but these feel nice.
I’m feeling like a very happy and a very lucky boy.

My version of Spaghetti Pavarotti. I fell in love with this dish when I was working in Bangalore. I was staying in a beautiful hotel, but over the months the menu became quite boring, not this dish though, I never tired of it.
You are probably thinking, why stay in the hotel, well its a good point, we did go out but when you’re staying somewhere for months and working long hours, you’ll find yourself sticking in the hotel as often as you go out.
So, its King prawns, thrown in at the last minute to avoid shrinkage, squid rings and chunks of both smoked and un-smoked Cod. The sauce is a medium onion, 2 cloves of garlic, finely choppped parsley and a tin of tomatoes, all cooked down for 20 minutes, very simple and very tasty.

A frivolous post, but this tickled me today, upon booking a flight, I was pleased to see….
If anything its rather understated, I was expecting
“Congratulations, you’ve booked this flight, now you can relax and perhaps your partner will stop checking our web site every 20 minutes to see if we’ve released next seasons flights, I mean to say, well, we like visitors but really, he practicaly lives here!”

Seen in the car park at work.
I mean, I like a joke as much as the next non-believer but really, would you wear this?

Last Tuesday our new car was delivered and I drove it around a bit in evening. When I went to Asda, I noticed I was feeling a bit of tightness in my ankle
I woke up Wednesday and my ankle was starting to feel quite stiff. The day went on and I realised it was swelling just like it did when we returned from Cyprus. I went to bed and by that time was in some pain.
On Thursday I was tired all day, I hadnt slept well due to the pain, and I really had to hobble around all day. Paul was doing my head in, wanting me to see the Doctor. I narrowly escaped this because I was able to say that the pain was easing off by the evening.
On Friday, it was deffo better, I woke up with no pain, still stiff but it didnt wake me in the night. Sunday came around and it was pretty much ok again.
As I write, on Monday evening, a week after it started again, I’m happy to report I’m ok again.
I’m now thinking that I may have been mis-diagnosed last time, given the heavy weekend that preceded this episode, I’m wondering if it was actually a bit of gout? After all, last time it started was on the final day of an all inclusive holiday. Maybe the insect bite was a red herring?
Of course, I’m not going for tests to confirm it, if I did then it would be real, if I just manage it myself I dont have to worry about it.
All of this really just helps me to remember that I’m starting to feel old!
