A frivolous post, but this tickled me today, upon booking a flight, I was pleased to see….

If anything its rather understated, I was expecting

“Congratulations, you’ve booked this flight, now you can relax and perhaps your partner will stop checking our web site every 20 minutes to see if we’ve released next seasons flights, I mean to say, well, we like visitors but really, he practicaly lives here!”

Last Tuesday our new car was delivered and I drove it around a bit in evening. When I went to Asda, I noticed I was feeling a bit of tightness in my ankle

I woke up Wednesday and my ankle was starting to feel quite stiff. The day went on and I realised it was swelling just like it did when we returned from Cyprus. I went to bed and by that time was in some pain.

On Thursday I was tired all day, I hadnt slept well due to the pain, and I really had to hobble around all day. Paul was doing my head in, wanting me to see the Doctor. I narrowly escaped this because I was able to say that the pain was easing off by the evening.

On Friday, it was deffo better, I woke up with no pain, still stiff but it didnt wake me in the night. Sunday came around and it was pretty much ok again.

As I write, on Monday evening, a week after it started again, I’m happy to report I’m ok again.

I’m now thinking that I may have been mis-diagnosed last time, given the heavy weekend that preceded this episode, I’m wondering if it was actually a bit of gout? After all, last time it started was on the final day of an all inclusive holiday. Maybe the insect bite was a red herring?

Of course, I’m not going for tests to confirm it, if I did then it would be real, if I just manage it myself I dont have to worry about it.

All of this really just helps me to remember that I’m starting to feel old!

Zattoo, frankly its amazing, live TV, real time streaming, its uber! I really can’t say enough about this, go to, download and sign up and youre watching telly. Oh, I’m running XP but had to use the Vista version, it works for me πŸ™‚

New adventures in cookery

I stuck these photos up on Flickr last week expecting to regale you all with compelling and well-written tales of my latest culinary adventures. Sadly, it didnt quite happen due to a few minor crisis and a very busy weekend. Not being one to be put off entirely when thing don’t go to plan, I present them here in short form, after all I wouldnt want to deprive you of the chance to share in my gastronomic journies πŸ™‚

Mussels, King Prawn, Squid and Scallops in a Tomato sauce with Reginette Pasta.

Last Fridays dinner and a fairly quick but very impressive meal, a packet of frozen mixed seafood (defrosted), cooked quickly in my home-made tomato sauce (the most time consuming part) then tossed together with (slightly over-cooked) Reginette Pasta.

Last Thursday we enjoyed Cheesburgers with Avocado and Tomato, pretty standard fare, completely transformed by Avocado instead of the usual fried onion. So fresh and light, in short, bloody fantastic !

Last Wednesday it was good old Fish and Peas. Homemade mushy peas, Alaskan Pollack encrusted using my own secret fish coating recipe method.
