Chantennay Carrots in fact.
I’m so proud 🙂
This is a picture of some Peas that an allotment neighbour planted outside his plot. How nice is that? I picked a pod and can confirm that they are sweet, tender and lovely 🙂
And here is a picture of my own peas, not too far behind, the pods are developing nicely, they should fill out over the next few days and be ready to start picking 🙂
Paul has already claimed these, they will all, he has decided, be eaten raw as pod peas. Do you do that? Paul and I like to sit and shell the peas and eat them, just like shelling Pistacchio nuts only much healthier 🙂
…errrr, because it hasnt stopped for the last 48 hours, thats why, actually it did stop for 2 hours this afternoon, but hey-ho.
So, as usual after any prolonged spell of weather in the UK, the whole country grinds to a halt.
The funniest thing though, Paul has Corrie on the TV and we cant help noticing how far out the pre-recorded storyline is.
On several occasions the characters are exclaiming about the lovely weather, “oh, lets go for a walk in the park” or something. We are both pissing ourselves at this, since the rain hitting the road outside is is bouncing 2 feet* back up into the air!
I do hope it stops soon, otherwise I wont get to collect and build my greenhouse on Sunday!**

**I originally mis-typed this as Subday, hope its not an omen!
Did you see the link, over there ——> To my Garden Diary ?
I’m only pointing it out as its the main reason I am not posting much to the blog lately. I seem to spend most of my time either at the Allotment or making little updates to the diary.
Check it out!
I went topless again today after getting the car roof fixed on Thursday. Hurrah!, Love it.
Did you know that over 80% of humans with red hair or fair skin have a dysfunctional variant of the Mc1r gene? Thats right, its a Ginger Gene! and its dysfunctional 🙂 hahaha!
My brother “found” 4 scaffold planks and dropped them off at trevs, we used the curcular saw to make enough lengths for 8 raised beds on the Allotment.
I discovered that veg and flowers seeds are on sale at Netto for a fabulous 19p a packet! Even cheaper than the 29p at LIDL.
I sowed some Cauliflower and Cucumber seeds indoors in seed trays.
When Carphone Warehouse say please allow 30 days for your cheque to arrive, they mean it. Notification received 23-03-07, cheque received 21-04-07.
We had our first salad of the year in which we were able to include leaves from the garden, they were Spinach, Little Gem, Salad Bowl and Mint.
Mixing a few baby mint leaves into a salad is a brilliant idea!
That is all.
